In my black and white work I expose and process all my own negatives. I then print my photographic prints manually, one-at-a-time in my wet darkroom. In my case this darkroom is a dual purpose one - a bathroom which doubles as the darkroom. Although inconvenient at times - especially when making large photographs - it works. You see my work started as a passionate hobby which has turned into my livelihood and I have simply never had time to build a "real" darkroom.

My photographs are printed on archival, fiber-based paper. Most prints receive some degree of manipulation - holding back exposure to some areas and giving more exposure to others. I sometimes tone the print with various toners. After processing the photograph  archaically with the proper chemicals, the print is mounted with 100% rag mat materials to insure the security of your investment.

Although my subject matter varies widely, I attempt to achieve in each photograph what the photographer Emmet Gowin says "is the gift of a landscape photograph, that the heart finds a place to stand".
